Intensive Reformer Teacher Training

IThis is not just a course — it's the beginning of a teaching career built on depth, confidence, and community. Over seven immersive face-to-face days, combined with flexible online learning, you will gain the knowledge, practice hours, and ongoing support to teach reformer Pilates with real expertise.

This hybrid programme blends the best of both worlds: the intensity and connection of in-person training with the flexibility of self-paced online modules you can return to again and again.

About the programme

The Intensive Reformer Teacher Training is a hybrid method designed for movement professionals who want to go beyond the basics. Whether you are a Pilates practitioner looking to make the transition into teaching, or an existing instructor wanting to deepen your reformer knowledge, this programme gives you the tools to teach with authority.

The face-to-face component runs from 10 to 16 August — seven consecutive days of hands-on learning, peer practice, and guided teaching. Before, during, and after those days, you will have access to a comprehensive self-paced online library covering everything from anatomy to specialist populations.

What you will learn

The curriculum covers the full scope of reformer teaching, from classical foundations to contemporary approaches, and from general sequencing principles to working safely with specialist populations.

Everything that's included

The course fee covers far more than the seven days themselves. Here is what you get from the moment you enrol.

  • Complimentary video library
A full online video library you can access at your own pace, before the course to prepare, during to consolidate, and after to revisit material as your teaching evolves.

  • Self-paced online learning
Flexible digital modules covering anatomy, specialist populations, and theoretical underpinning — learn at the time and pace that works for you.

  • Hands-on support before and after
You will not be left alone once the in-person days are over. Direct support is available before the course to help you prepare, and afterwards as you start to put your teaching into practice.

  • Ongoing mentoring
Access to mentoring as your teaching career develops — because becoming a great teacher is a process, not a single event.

  • A thriving community
You will graduate into an active network of teachers who share resources, support each other, and continue learning together long after the course ends.

How to qualify as a certified instructor

To earn your certificate as a Certified Reformer Pilates Instructor through TRUNK Academy, you must complete all of the following requirements. Everything you need - space, support, and guidance - is built into the programme.

  1. Complete all training modules and exams

All online and in-person modules must be completed in full, including any written or practical assessments. This ensures every TRUNK Academy instructor graduates with the same rigorous foundation.

  2. Attend 20 reformer classes

Experiencing the reformer as a student — across a range of teachers and styles — is an essential part of your development. Regular class attendance builds body knowledge that no manual can replicate.

Class pack available — CHF 500

  3. 10 hours of self-training on the reformer

Independent practice time on the reformer allows you to explore the equipment and deepen your own movement understanding without the pressure of a class setting. Room hire is included in your course fee.

You will need to film at least one sequence during your self-training hours for assessment purposes.

    Room hire included

  4. Teach 20 practice classes

Teaching is a skill developed through repetition. Your 20 practice classes give you real experience in front of real clients, with the studio space provided so there are no barriers to getting your hours in.

At least one class must be filmed and submitted as part of your assessment.

    Room hire included

  5. 10 hours of class observation

Observing experienced teachers in action is one of the most powerful learning tools available. Eight hours of structured observation gives you the chance to study pacing, cueing, corrections, and class management in real time.

Everything you need to know before you enrol

The training combines seven intensive face-to-face days with flexible online learning you can work through at your own pace — before, during, and after the in-person component. Places are strictly limited to eight students, and the early-bird rate is available to the first four to sign up.
