Our training combines the strength and endurance elements of Barre with the grace and precision inspired by ballet. Throughout the course, you will develop a strong understanding of movement principles, exercise technique, class structure, and coaching methods that help create safe, challenging, and enjoyable classes for a wide range of participants.

Foundations of Barre

Explore the history and evolution of Barre, understand its core principles, and learn how Barre combines elements of ballet, fitness, and functional movement.

Anatomy and Movement Principles

Develop a practical understanding of anatomy as it relates to movement, posture, alignment, stability, and muscular engagement. Learn how to apply this knowledge to create effective and purposeful classes.

Barre Technique and Exercise Repertoire

Master a comprehensive range of Barre exercises, including standing work, lower body sequences, upper body strengthening, core-focused movements, balance challenges, and flexibility components. Learn the purpose of each exercise and how to teach it with confidence.

Alignment and Cueing

Learn how to observe movement, provide clear verbal instruction, and use effective coaching techniques that help participants understand and perform exercises correctly.

140 hours. 12 months. A hybrid learning experience with just one day of face-to-face training and a world-class curriculum you can complete on your own schedule, from anywhere.

This certification is designed for real schedules — whether you're training between shifts, around a full-time job, or in the pockets of time you carve out for yourself. Every hour you put in builds toward becoming a confident, qualified barre instructor.

How your 140 hours break down:

• 90 hours — Online coursework (main curriculum + anatomy)

• 20 hours — Participation in live classes

• 20 hours — Practice teaching

• 10 hours — In-person training day

What it takes to certify:

• Complete 100% of the online content — main course and anatomy course

• Log all required hours (20 participation + 20 practice teaching)

• Attend one full day of face-to-face training with our expert trainers

• Submit a written 1:1 class plan

• Submit a written group class plan (this becomes the blueprint for your video)

• Film a 40–50 minute class video demonstrating your teaching

• Teach and film one signature TRUNK class — showcasing the brand's unique style and format

• Tuition paid in full

Your timeline: 12 months from your enrolment date to complete everything, at your own pace.

Our certification process is designed to ensure you graduate with both the knowledge and practical teaching experience needed to confidently lead Barre classes.

To successfully complete the Online Barre Teacher Training and receive your Certificate of Completion, participants must:

• Complete all online learning modules

• Attend 1 day in person training

• Successfully pass all online assessments and knowledge tests

• Attend 20 Barre classes to deepen understanding of class flow, coaching styles, and exercise application

• Teach 20 Barre classes to gain practical teaching experience and develop confidence as an instructor

• Submit a video examination teaching one TRUNK Signature Barre class

• Submit a video examination teaching one self-designed Barre sequence demonstrating your understanding of programming, sequencing, and coaching principles

Upon successful completion of all course requirements, graduates will receive a Certificate of Completion from TRUNK Academy and will have the practical experience, teaching skills, and confidence to deliver engaging and effective Barre classes in a variety of settings.

Once certified you will be able to teach in Switzerland and Internationally.
