Reformer Pilates Teacher Training (Hybrid)
Welcome to the TRUNK Reformer Pilates Teacher Training — a comprehensive program designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to teach safe, effective, and inspiring Reformer Pilates classes.
Our teacher training honours the traditional Pilates method while embracing a contemporary approach, informed by the most recent research in movement science.
This course follows a hybrid method, combining the flexibility of online learning with the hands-on experience of in-person training. Study the theory at your own pace, from the comfort of your home or wherever life takes you — no rigid weekly schedules, no unnecessary commuting for every session. Then bring it all together with 3 full days of in-person, hands-on training, followed by your exam day, where you'll refine your technique, build confidence on the Reformer, and connect with your instructors and fellow trainees. Whether you're squeezing in study time between classes or carving out full days to focus, this course is designed to work around your life — while still giving you the practical, in-person foundation every great Reformer teacher needs.

Your training begins with in-depth anatomy study online. From there, you'll move into the physiology component, also online — covering history, spinal positions, breath, and the importance of a neutral spine. This is where the practical work begins: you'll practise on friends and family and upload videos for review.
The hybrid method also gives you full access to our repertoire videos online, so you can familiarise yourself with the movements and our cueing formula whenever suits you.
Next comes your 3-day face-to-face intensive, where your anatomy and physiology knowledge is tested on day 1, followed by hands-on practice of the movements and your teaching method.
You'll also work towards your 20 hours of attending classes, 10 hours of observation, and 10 hours of self-practice at your own pace.
Exam 1 takes place on a separate exam day, where you'll teach a 40–50 minute sequence, followed by anatomy questions.
Once you've completed your 20 hours of classes, 10 hours of observation, 10 hours of self-practice, and taught 20 classes of your own, you'll move on to Exam 2 — a video examination where you submit self-filmed classes with a minimum of 3 participants.
